The Tour of America - Announces New Route

Frank Arokiasamy, Aqu's president, originally announced details of the event during a press conference at Interbike, the bicycle industry's annual trade show held in Las Vegas. As originally conceived, the race would have covered 4,000 miles (more than 6,000 km) with 27 stages during 30 days of competition.

"During and after our announcement at Interbike, almost daily I received emails and phone calls with positive and negative comments about the race," Arokiasamy said. "The overwhelming response showed there was an interest and a need for a 'Tour de France-style' race here in the United States. Based on the feedback from everyone, we realized our first plans were perhaps too ambitious and that the original race schedule didn't fit within standard racing protocols. To ensure the race would attract the best international racing teams and the support of both cycling enthusiasts and sports fans alike, we've modified the race schedule and route to its current form."

The 2008 Tour of America will be the largest spectator event in the history of U.S.

Book on Rajnikanth to hit stalls soon

Megastar Rajnikanth was a spoilt brat when he was five-years-old, bullied people when he was 10 and tied cycle chains around his neck at 20.

All these and many more aspects of the southern screen icon's life will be revealed in a new book that will hit the market in the first week of March.

The book, The Name is Rajnikanth, is a biographical sketch of the southern megastar. Supported by nearly 100 pictures, it has 384 pages and costs Rs.495.

"He was very naughty and used to bully people. Rajni, along with his friends, used to play marbles and if anybody else other than him won the game, he used to beat him up," author Gayatri Shreekanth told IANS.

"He used to walk very fast and his friends complained that they could never match his pace.

Be very afraid of White House tactics on fear

Be afraid. Be very afraid. Pay close attention to the change in news lately as the Democrats gain momentum in moving us away from the failed politics of fear.

The White House has "new" information that terrorists are planning "fresh assaults" that would make the attacks of Sept. 11 "pale by comparison."

Be afraid. Be very afraid. It is no accident that the drums of fear are conveniently beating ever so loudly at a time when people are clamoring for change.

Let's see now, what is this White House to do? Well, Americans are overwhelmingly saying they want out of Iraq, right? Quick, tell them terrorists are on their way.

Oh, yes, and let's run a story about Iran processing small amounts of uranium. What? The diplomats report that Iran has far too few centrifuges to make enriched uranium in the quantities needed for an industrial-scale weapons program? Oh, well, let's run it anyway and remind them that peace is just an illusion.

Viewers' Comments On Randy Salerno - Part 3

To those who were there, that moment was less about the movie story and more about what kind of person Randy was – friendly, full of life, and captivating. Clearly, what viewers saw through their television sets was true and genuine. God Bless. -Michael F., Huntley My sincere and heartfelt condolences to all of you at CBS, and to the family of Randy Salerno. Although I wasn't able to watch the morning news as often since my change to the second shift, I remember fondly, many a morning of laughter and joy because of this amazing individual. Randy could change my sober mood into a giggle fit in no time. On many mornings, my son would call me to make sure I was watching, and we'd laugh together while Randy had his co-workers in stitches on the air. I'm sitting here watching the many tributes to Randy Salerno...which are not limited to Channel 2...and in the midst of my tears, I am again finding myself laughing at the wonderful memories being shared.

EICMA show -

ITM's new Volo Carbon Tech stem was front and center on its stand in Milano. The new neck has carbon fiber wrapped around a 2014 aluminum alloy core that offers the light weight of carbon and the strength of aluminium. ITM uses a special layering technique that bonds the composite to the aluminium and become one integrated structure which ITM claims weighs 120 grams.

Hoopwise, ITM is rolling along on an all-new four model wheel range, featuring two wheels inspired by their popular K-Sword carbon fibre integrated handlebars, K-Sword 58 (a 58mm carbon fibre tubular wheelset) and K-Sword 38, a carbon/Alu clincher wheelset. ITM's wheel offerings are rounded out by the mid-range Visia 28 clincher and entry level Alu 25.

911 Mythical Reality

They even planted a 'passport' from one of the so called hijackers, on the sidewalk in front of the building. Amazing..it flew out of his pocket, somehow escaped the burning, crashed plane and miraculously floated down to the sidewalk, all in one piece.

But, like I said, my first wake up call was looking at the blown up lobby....

And this is only the very beginning of many unanswered questions. Oh, we know who owned the Popular Mechanics magazine, but did you know the cousin of Michael CHERTOFF, Benjamin Chertoff wrote the article! Yup, its true.

Jane relishes 'Queen Mum' role

They're some of the richest, most famous and most powerful people in the country, yet all we know about them comes from formal events and scandalous bits of gossip that probably aren't true anyway.

Yes, the Royal Family, even in this age of rolling news and celebrity, remain something of an enigma and the fact they maintain such a front, even in times of crisis, is part of their fascination.

Not that it's a factual representation, but current ITV1 drama The Palace has been offering us a glimpse of it might be like to live as part of the British royal family, complete with the sort of lies, jealousy, rivalry and back-stabbing you might think belonged in an episode of Dallas.

It began six weeks ago. As the series opened, we found the fictional royals immediately in turmoil when King James died unexpectedly, thrusting his son and heir, Richard, onto the throne aged just 24.
